We are looking to improve the quality of our design service across the country by way of an Experienced Architectural Designer. The right candidate will have an unquestionable passion for producing design solutions for homeowners small and large to suit all budgets. The job will mean visiting various properties typically within 60 miles of your location and predominantly working from home. You will meet clients, take a brief, assess/survey and produce design, planning and building Regulations. Our support group of architects, technologists, structural engineers and support administrators will provide you with everything you need to deliver at a high standard.
The right candidate will need to have a great positive problem-solving attitude and want to continuously grow and develop their skills across the industry. Initial meetings require a creative mindset backed up by in-depth knowledge of building, planning policy and building regulations. You will provide design options based on the client brief and in line with their budget. Once the design has been approved our team will produce the planning and building regulations packages, you will need to oversee and understand the follow-up processes. We also offer project management and would prefer candidates to have experience and background in minor work project management.
Training and development will be given in the role including our industry-leading custom management system, giving you access to the information and helping manage your diary/tasks etc. We have unique packages to deliver projects at all budgets with varying design and technical input levels.
Essential Requirements
- Architectural Design Experience (Residential Sector) minimum 5 years
- Meeting potential clients and taking brief
- Ability to conduct on site builder meetings
- Sign off contracted building works
- Thorough knowledge of planning processes, procedure and policy
- Ability to communicate and sell architectural services to clients
- Autocad 2D drawing experience (other compatible drawing packages considered)
- Surveying of properties (non invasive)
- Site assessment
- Producing planning and building regulations drawings
- Writing planning documentation
- Knowledge of building costs
- Drivers licence and own vehicle to start with

Detailed job description
The job will be salary based and the hours will suit the role, evenings and weekend meetings. We currently working across the UK and are rapidly expanding the services nationally. We will work from home following your pre-planned task and appointments. Training and check-in days will be done regularly at your nearest CK Office with our experienced staff.

Design Process
Typically you will be sent to meet a new client once we have the enquiry, you will then take the brief exploring their requirements and budget. You will then advise the clients of the necessary planning route and make them aware of any issues or objections they might face. You will then explain the benefits of using our service with the aim to winning their business. Once confirmed you will often be required to return and take the survey and then produce detailed plans of the existing property. From there a return visit to discuss all options or email designs, and work through with the client for confirmation.
